About Me

My name is Emma Hoopes and I am from small town Arizona. I live with my husband, Derek, and our two fur babies Peanut the pug and Jake the Saint Bernard! We love the slower life style. In the 2.5 years we've been married we've lived in a lot of different cities/towns throughout Arizona but we've found we're so much happier and enjoy life so much more in the small towns than we do in the big cities.

I started this blog mostly to share about me, my life, whatever craft I'm up to at the moment, and to hopefully start sharing original crochet patterns! I love to crochet, I started crocheting when I was 14 and ever since I just couldn't put that hook down! So I hope to help inspire others that crochet as well as those that don't know how but want to learn!

So I have been trying to think of ways to use up all of my scrap yarn lately and one night a couple weeks ago I was feeling creative and was looking at my yarn stash and a few colors jumped out at me and said "MERMAID!" So I got to work making this gem! When I first started making this doll I didn't really have any intention on writing up a pattern but she came out so cute that I couldn't stop at just one! So below I have written up the instructions to make your very own mermaid rag-doll! Also, to talk about my inspiration for the name, in church I teach the 4 year olds and there is this sweetheart named Harlo in my class.
